Warm hues like camel and burgundy are all over my radar this season and are definitely starting to dominate my wardrobe. I’m especially drawn to warm neutrals for winter outerwear, which contrasts my usual dark colored winter jackets. On days when I’m not quite intrigued by the idea of bundling up in the old puffer (although I may have already broken it out once or twice last month), I like to have a dressier wool coat on hand to mix it up. I’ve already talked plenty about my affinity for wool, especially wool hats and scarves, but I really love the heavyweight feel of this wool blend coat (currently on sale for $160!!) because it’s just the right amount of warmth for a cold, brisk day without being overly bulky.
Wool skirts are such a staple of my wardrobe in the wintertime as well, and with the markdowns at J.Crew Factory, I picked up this style in a few colors to carry me through the chilly season, while still having plenty of business casual options. A little secret of mine… I’ve actually had this skirt in a few basic colors that I bought from J.Crew at least six years ago and have been wearing each winter ever since. This year (with the zippers finally worn out), I finally bit the bullet and replaced them. Knowing that these are great investment pieces and currently on sale for $40 each, I knew I just couldn’t beat it!

Keep some color incorporated among your neutrals, grays and blacks this fall with colored tights. I love how this spiced wine color is subtle enough to wear to work, but still adds that much needed pop! Get all the outfit details here:
wool city coat // printed cotton button down // wool mini skirt // tortoise necklace // spiced wine solid tights // suede booties // pearl earrings // gold watch
How are you staying fashionably warm this season?
