Warby Parker

I had been in the market for new eyeglasses for quite awhile. I have a couple of pairs that I generally rotated between over the past few years, but since I’m completely dependent on glasses or contacts, I wanted a new pair that I could really feel good in. Since I have a smaller face, a lot of the frames I tried on were just way too big for me. My older pairs were too wide for my face, and they just felt like too much plastic on my face. Since I had a great experience several months ago picking out and purchasing sunglasses from Warby Parker via the Home Try-On, I knew the ever growing retailer would be a great place to start. You can pick out any five frames to be shipped to your home for you to try on at your leisure. The Warby Parker website is structured to help you find the best fit by filtering all the options based on width (narrow, medium, wide), so you’ll have a decent idea of how they’ll fit even before you try them. Once you make up your mind you can send them back and purchase the ones you like best (note: you are not required to make a purchase just because you did a home try-on).

Although the home try-on worked out for the perfect sunglasses, I just couldn’t make up my mind about eyeglasses. I wanted something “geeky-chic,” but not too big. I also wanted a second (and third) opinion. So I popped into the Boston shop, and (after trying on all of them) I finally settled on the Wilkie in Greystone. I usually tend toward brown or tortoise colors for frames, but for some reason the grey just seemed right.

Warby Parker makes stylish and modern eyeglasses from high quality materials, but in a way that is entirely affordable. These glasses, even with my high index lenses, cost less than a third of what I have paid in the past for designer eyewear. The company is completely disrupting the eyewear industry, and they are doing so in a socially responsible way. For each pair sold, Warby Parker donates another pair to a person in need. I personally like to give my business to a company that gives back to the community over one that does not – yet another no-brainer for choosing Warby Parker!

I didn’t know that Warby Parker will send you multiple pairs to try on at home! Such a great way to shop for eyewear. Although I have a pair of glasses that I love, I am looking for a new pair of sunglasses. I will definitely be checking out Warby Parker soon!

It’s so nice wearing the glasses in the comfort of your own home for a few days before buying! I’d love to know – where are your glasses from that you love?

I have tortoise frame Ralph Lauren ones that I got at Lenscrafter a few years ago! I kept going back to the store for about a week trying different ones on and taking photos to compare before landing on the pair. Doing it at home would have been SO much easier!
