With fall quickly approaching, it is either time to shop for a back-to-school backpack or for a fall work tote. As much as I love to use my Vineyard Vines canvas tote throughout the summer, even to work, it just isn’t appropriate for the fall. In college I loved to use a backpack. I bounced around between my VV tote, my Lonchamp and a pretty basic black backpack. During my last year of school, I ended up sticking with the backpack because it was easiest for lugging books and a laptop. If you are generally carrying a lot of heavy stuff around, I would definitely recommend a backpack. I love the ones from Marc Jacobs (#1 above) and Sole Society (#4 above) for their stylish, yet practical design. Additionally, the brand new line of backpacks from Madeline and Company are not just cute, but they are also roomy enough to be the perfect back-to-school carry-all.

If you prefer a shoulder bag, especially for work, the Tory Burch Ella (#2) is such a staple. It’s been my go-to bag for the past year because it fits everything. I’m talking laptop, change of clothes, change of shoes, lunches, snacks, a hair dryer, and pouches and toiletry bags galore! If I need to go somewhere after work, I’ll always bring my Ella tote full of whatever I may need to freshen up! It’s a true life saver.

For a more classic bag, I love the leather totes from J.Crew and Madewell. They are simple, roomy, and great additions to any outfit.FullSizeRender (61)My favorite tote for work over the past year definitely has been this Tory Burch York Buckle Tote. Even though it doesn’t hold nearly as much as the Ella, it’s much more structured, looks more professional and is great for days when I don’t need to carry a ton of bricks around with me. It also has a nice padded pocket perfect for a laptop.

I’d love to know what bags everyone else is eyeing for the fall! xo

I love the totes you’ve featured here. Any tote that is cute and can carry my laptop for work is a winner in my book!

Agreed! My work laptop can be a bit of a beast, so a larger tote is necessary! So glad you like these options!
