I’m so excited to be heading out on a little vacation this week! I’ll be meeting my family at our destination, and I just can’t wait! I originally wasn’t planning to go with them this year since I just started a new job in December, but the timing worked out and everything just fell into place. Even though it will just be for a few days, this little break is coming at a much needed time. Lately I’ve been feeling like I’ve been running around and trying to juggle too many things that I just feel forgetful and disorganized…which is NOT how I generally operate. Does anyone else ever feel this way?
Having a fun trip to look forward to makes everything I’m doing right now seem worth it! I know that in a couple days I will be able to let myself relax – and be with the people I love – it couldn’t get any better! Even though this trip was booked on relatively short notice, I’ve still been packing in my mind (and maybe doing a little too much online shopping…) for weeks! You can see a few sneak peeks of some of the outfits I’ve picked out from these photos. I’ll be sharing more details next week. For now, here are some of my favorites:
Generally, I find packing to be fun! Putting outfits together for a (in this case) tropical environment is so enjoyable for me! I’ve always loved playing dress up, and before deciding what to wear, I’ve found it easier to stay organized if I try on all my outfits and accessories a head of time. That way, I know if the look is cohesive. This also helps me avoid overpacking – I used to (and sometimes still do) bring a lot of extra clothes, so I would have enough “options” in case the weather changed, or there was an event I didn’t know about beforehand. While it’s good to be prepared, I never usually end up wearing any of my extra “options.”
There are a few things I’m sure to pack up carefully so as to not forget them! I’ve been using micellar water to cleanse my skin for about a year now (I talk about why in this post). I feel like my skin is very much affected by the water from the tap – so washing it with a traditional cleanser and tap water I’m not used to leaves it prone to break outs – eek! I would so much rather gently cleanse it in the morning and at night with micellar water. I keep a little travel size with some cotton pads in my carry on – it’s nice to be able to freshen up after getting off the airplane!
My second beauty must-have when traveling is Origins Night-A-Mins. I tend to get really dry skin when staying in a hotel room, so layering on this nourishing cream while I sleep keeps my skin soft and hydrated. For me, there really is nothing worse than waking up with dry skin and chapped lips. Since I will be in the sun a lot each day on this trip, I want to take extra good care of my skin at night.
Last but certainly not least – sunscreen! This is something I definitely wouldn’t leave without! I usually use Ole Henriksen Truth Revealed Super Crème with SPF 15 on a daily basis, but something more protective was definitely necessary for this trip, so I picked up this First Aid Beauty moisturizer with SPF 40.
It may not be super glamorous, but I like to organize my suitcase with Ziploc baggies. I’ll even put my socks and underwear in one! And of course, you’ll need one for liquids in your carry-on at the airport.
I’m so ready to jet set! Does anyone else have any fun trips coming up this spring/summer?

It’s so easy to overpack with “extra” outfits or beauty products isn’t it?! Always happens to me but you’ve done a fab job here and you have such an organised routine in place. Definitely need to take tips from you here when I am packing next week x
