Happy Thanksgiving week, all! This week is one of my favorites of the year. The cozy, homey feel of everyone working together on dinner preparations is one that I will always relish. Setting the table, baking treats and spending quality time with family is the true beauty of this holiday. This year, I couldn’t wait to head home to my parent’s house to get the preparations started.
I love a crisp white table cloth. I wanted to stick with a simple theme of white and gold, as well as earthy colors like orange and green. Sometimes I feel that Thanksgiving can be overshadowed by Christmas, and although I am definitely in the Christmas spirit already, I do believe that Thanksgiving should be its own special event. Hydrangeas (aside from lilacs, of course!) are one of my favorite flowers, and I love the clean, fresh look of these full white flowers. I dressed up some square glass vases with homemade gold wire ribbon bows and filled out a very simple centerpiece using glitter pine cones and candles. I found the pine cones and other festive decor in abundance at stores like Michael’s and Pier 1, but they could also have easily be a fun DIY activity. I love to mix in these more affordable, crafty pieces with classic and timeless dinnerware like this Lenox china and crystal drinkware. My goal was to preserve as much free space on the table as possible to make room for the holiday feast (and to avoid overcrowding)!
