This bubbly holiday cocktail is a festive twist on the classic French 75. I love a celebratory champagne cocktail, especially around the holiday season. When I’m out and about with friends or coworkers, my go-to drink is usually a simple glass of champagne or prosecco (more on their differences here) because it is light and low in calories; however, a French 75 is a more complex, more sophisticated alternative for special occasions. In preparation for the holiday season ahead, I’ve been experimenting with new cocktail creations for entertaining guests. I’ve found the fusion of cranberry and lime to be refreshing, festive and aesthetically pleasing (the color of the cranberries is incredibly vibrant)! Scroll down for my holiday cocktail recipe!

Proportions are for a single serving:
1 oz. gin
1 0z. cranberry cocktail (100% juice)
Juice of 1/8 lime
4 oz. sparkling wine (champagne or prosecco)

For garnish:
Twist of lime
Frozen cranberries
Fresh mint

Measure the gin into champagne flutes; you can add a little more for a stronger drink if that’s how you like it (I’d recommend up to 1.5 ounces). Add a splash of cranberry and a squeeze of lime juice; I used the juice of 1/2 of a lime for four cocktails. Top each with champagne or prosecco and garnish with mint, frozen cranberries and a twist of lime rind. For tips on how to cut your lime twist just right, watch this video or use a citrus stripper.

I love the tangy citrus flavor of the lime mixed with the tart cranberry and fresh mint. This is a perfect holiday cocktail for either Thanksgiving or Christmas to celebrate with friends and family.

May this week of Thanksgiving be filled with lots of family, friends food + drink!

The recipe sounds amazing, I can almost taste each ingredient but the presentation in these pictures is out of this world. I guess you could say a picture is worth a thousand sips.

I’m with you, 1.5 oz of gin. 🙂
