Spring is officially here! BUT, it’s still quite cold outside. I know I can only speak for myself, but when I wake up and the sun is up, I’m so excited to dress for Spring! Tights are canceled for the season, and I’m all about my floral dresses and skirts. Without fail, I’ll roll over, check the weather on my phone and sure enough…I’m utterly disappointed seeing it read only 35 degrees. This leaves me staring at my closet in a state of confusion….what should I wear?
Recently, I was talking about this conundrum at work, and we all decided that layers (duh!) are the answer. Why not wear those fun floral dresses now? Seriously, I am beyond obsessed with this Adam Lippes satin cami dress. The trick is to layer warmer pieces under or over those Spring-y pieces. We picked out a lightweight Chloé sweater to go over this dress. I might have even gone so far as to throw a leather moto jacket on over it as well – especially for added warmth!

To complete this otherwise feminine, floral outfit, we styled it back to these darker/heavier Isabel Marant booties, as a nod back to this chilly season we haven’t quite left yet. And while these boots will work well throughout the Spring and Summer with the right outfit, they add the perfect transitional piece to this Spring-y look. I’ll be following this advice to layer and mix pretty colors and florals with heavier winter pieces until the warm weather finally shows up. It’s hard to complain since we know spring is almost upon us! That being said, how are you surviving this awkward weather period?
