I’m no stranger to a cozy #groufit (read: all gray outfit), and I’m certainly no stranger to big, chunky sweaters. I also feel like I’ve been overusing the word “cozy” lately; however, it really just describes exactly how I want to dress during this time of year. With the leaves changing and the air getting crisper and colder, all I really want is to snuggle up with a cozy sweater, a cozy blanket and a hot cup of tea. Is there anything better than that?
Last year around this time, I picked up this poncho sweater, which is also available in a natural putty color this year. A year later I could not wait to pull it out of my winter storage. It is soft and medium weight, so it makes for a great outer layer on cool (but not too cold!) fall days. Over a plain cotton long sleeved tee, and paired with a pair of black or dark jeans, and I have my standard fall/winter weekend uniform (albeit not a full on groufit).
With all these dark, neutral solids, I wouldn’t have felt right without a fun pair of shoes to complete the look. I mentioned that I was obsessing over these calf hair printed loafers in a post a few weeks ago, which I regret to say have all but sold out – unless you are a size 5 or 6 (which I most certainly am not)! Fortunately I purchased a pair just in time, but I have also picked out a few of my other favorite calf hair leopard print shoes like these and these! Alternatively, lace up flats are big this fall, and I’m loving these leopard print lace ups and these t-strap flats.
Lastly, it’s worth noting that both Old Navy and J.Crew are having 30% off promotions right now, so you can get most of this look on major sale! At checkout use code HOLLA at Old Navy and LAYERUP at J.Crew. Happy Shopping!
