Fall Tradition

For the second year in a row, we visited Allandale Farm to shop for pumpkins! It’s seriously the cutest little farm just outside of the city that offers everything from hayrides to hot apple cider, as well as every single type of pumpkin you can dream of. I just love the vast spread of beautiful orange pumpkins, next to the white and gray pumpkins and colorful green and yellow gourds. I actually had a cart full of one of everything when I realized I needed to put some back because I didn’t know what I would have done with them all! I was on a mission to find the perfect candidates for my favorite fall craft – pumpkin painting! You can see last year’s here, and a sneak peek of this year’s here!

The sunny and crisp weather last weekend could not have been more perfect for pumpkin scouting. I hate being cold, so I made sure to dress extra warmly with this fleece vest and cozy flannel. I bought the vest to wear over everyday outfits to stay warm in the office, and I actually have to stop myself from wearing it 24/7 because I just love how it adds that perfect extra layer of warmth without being too heavy.

Shop the look:

windproof fleece vest in natural (the java color I’m wearing isn’t available anymore but I’m also loving it in gray)
~
plaid flannel (you can never have too many cozy flannels, and this one, this one and this one are also on my radar)
~
wool skirt (also loving this textured version and this plaid version)
~
leather boots (mine aren’t available any more, but what I love about them is the stretch back panel and these are very similar in that they allow for a tighter fit around the calves; also check out these from yesterday’s post which are currently on sale!)
~
tights (can’t live without several pairs of those or these – currently 2 for $24)

What are some of your fall traditions?
