Having some color on my lips really makes me feel polished and makes any look, day or night, feel complete. I always always having something on my lips whether it is just some chapstick for moisturization, protection from the elements and a healthy shine, but more often than not, I layer a little color over my base layer of chapstick. I love my matte Nars lipsticks and my Clinique chubby sticks that I’ve been using for years, but when in a pinch or when on the road, the drugstore has some surprisingly great options as well! I tried out a few recently and here are my favorites for a whole spectrum of nudes to deep hues!
Simple nudes for daytime or to counter balance a more dramatic eye make up look…
Revlon Super Lustrous Pink Cognito
Milani Color Statement Matte Innocence
Peaches and pinks for feeling feminine and fun…
CoverGirl Colorlicious Decadent Peach
CoverGirl Colorlicious Delight Blush
Deep hues for a night out or to make a statement…
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss, #104
Classic reds…
The first here is a warmer, more orangey red, while the second is a creamier, softer true red color. I am a huge fan of a red lip for its classic and refined look. Plus, it’s a great color to make your lips pop!
Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Ravish Me Red
Revlon Super Lustrous Creme Certainly Red
If you’re ever traveling and forgot to bring some lip color, these are some great options that can be picked up at any drugstore for a very reasonable price.
Will you give them a try?

P.S. I always love reading your feedback and kind words in the comments, and I’d love to know – do you want to see more beauty posts?!
104 by Kate is my favorite!

Thank you! I’ve definitely been a big fan of red lips lately 🙂
Love that you featured affordable Drugstore brands! So many blogs push the high end stuff, but I too have found some great products at my local CVS/Walgreens.
Definitely a fan of your Pink Cognito and Certainly red – both sides of the spetrum. Did you find one brand lasting longer (less frequently applications) than another? Would love to hear about the longevity that you experienced.
Thanks again for a great post!

There are SO many great options we often walk by every day at the drugstore! I liked the Revlon brands the best – they felt the creamiest on my lips which I think made them last the longest! I’ll have to do a post about the most long lasting lip colors soon!
Thanks for getting back to me. I agree Revlon does have a nice feel.
Should you ever be inspired… looking for a new drugstore mascara. They eliminated my City Lengths buildable mascara (non waterproof) in the NYC brand… sigh… gone through 5 trials and returns…
These colors all look stunning on you! Great picks!

My chubby stick (my favorite is Roomiest Rose) has been a go-to of mine for a long time! I’ll have to try the bitten balm stains you mentioned next though!
Stunning post, you’re so beautiful. The lipsticks are all so pretty as well, I love Rimmel and Maybelline lipsticks they feel so comfortable. Currently, I’m really into the NYX soft matte lip creams as well. Great post x

Thanks, Kiran! You are so sweet! Those soft matte lip creams sound really great – I’ll have to check them out 🙂
I’m a lipstick fiend. I never leave the house without it. I almost always wear the bare face bold lips look. My favourite shades are bright red, burgundy, terracotta, deep fuchsia, dark berry pink, spice brown, pinky brown and pinky mauve
