Wahconah Weekend

I love a good road trip. I always take all the great local spots here in New England for granted. When I’ve got the travel bug, I’m always thinking about where I could jet off to, but lately, I’m starting to appreciate more and more the beautiful landscapes all around me.

A weekend getaway to Western Massachusetts was the perfect breath of fresh air – both literally and figuratively. After a busy week, there is something so calming about getting away from it all and really taking in Mother Nature’s beauty. It is a refreshing change of pace to help clear the mind. Plus, the air out there really does feel and smell a whole lot cleaner than it does it Boston. It may seem silly, but something about breathing in that scent of the Earth is healing. Seriously though, how beautiful is the landscape of Wahconah Falls in the background of these photos? Completely stunning!

New England has a way of always keeping us guessing. This past weekend, it had us all bundled up for the most part – let me just say it has been a chilly April so far! This faux shearling vest (also seen here) kept me cozy and warm layered over my favorite chambray shirt (seen here and here as well – really is my fave!). Truth be told, I actually wore this vest the WHOLE weekend over all of my outfits to keep me warm – even over my pj’s when just lounging and watching a movie. It is just so cozy i couldn’t take it off!

For walking around and just for general weekend wear, I love love love my Superga sneaks! I wore them in this post, and have been dying for another perfect outfit to pair them again. They are the comfiest. So much so that I am thinking they just might be my new travel shoe.

Faux shearling vest: Nic + Zoe // Leather crossbody bag: Street Level // Chambray button down: J.Crew // White jeans: J.Crew // Sneakers: Superga // Watch: Kate Spade // Lips: Revlon in Shanghai Sizzle

Despite the chill, I was so happy to get out and about for a bit of exploring. I love to be able to throw on my sneaks and a cozy outer layer for an adventure.

How do you guys get away from it all to clear your heads!? Do you enjoy Mother Nature as well? Let me know in the comments below!

When it is so cold out still at this time of year, sometimes I have to remind myself…but New England really is the best!
