I love beauty products. I definitely spend much more than I should during quick runs to CVS and/or Walgreens. Maybe I just need tissues, but I walk out with a new moisturizer and lip balm.
Since I have so much experience in sampling products from the drugstore, I thought I would share some of my go-tos.
1. Neutrogena Body Oil // I love having freshly moisturized skin after getting out of the shower, but I hate the sticky feeling that some lotions leave behind, sometimes even for hours. I love this body oil because it is so light and absorbs quickly on damp skin. My skin feels and smells great afterward. My mom always used this when I was young, and its become a staple in my medicine cabinet as well.
2. African Black Soap // When I first tried this soap, I really did not like the dark soap suds – it seemed like I was just washing with dirt, especially since it’s made with palm ash. Despite this weird mental effect, I have grown to love this soap. It is moisturizing but also leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean. I have to be careful with what I use on my chest in back since those areas are breakout-prone, but this soap is known for is acne clearing abilities. I can vouch for that!
3. Simple Cleansing Micellar Water // This is so gentle and so rejuvenating. I like to use this at night before bed because it leaves my face feeling hydrated and purified. I find this to be much better than an aggressive cleanser that dries out my skin.
4. Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask // This has been in my arsenal for years. It isn’t time consuming to use like other deep conditioners – you just leave it in for 5 minutes in the shower. It’s perfect for those showers when you can really take your time and relax.
5. Eclos Skin Renewal Clay Mask // This weekly mask has become one of my favorite rituals. Winding down with a face mask is fun for me in general, but this one makes my skin feel tight and radiant.
What are your favorite drugstore products? I’d love to know!
