Booties + Socks

Wearing booties and socks together is definitely not a look I ever thought I would love. I actually stumbled upon this combo accidentally after shooting this look, in which I wore these same booties. It was pretty chilly that day, and as I was changing to go to a wine tasting with the girls I ended up putting some wool socks on – just to stay warm. Expecting to feel completely silly wearing my socks like that, I was surprised that I actually felt chic – and warm and cozy, of course!

Speaking of staying warm, I’m getting tired of my wool skirts, and quite frankly I am so over wearing black tights on a daily basis. Black tights and some sort of skirt or dress is usually my winter uniform, but I’m really ready for bare legs! For now, cozy Smart Wool socks peeking out of my booties ever so slightly will have to do!

This blue skirt (also seen here), is one of my favorites because the color is so versatile. I paired it with black, white and red this past winter for a more contrasted look, but I liked swapping out those primary shades for pinks and neutrals for spring!

All we need is a little more of this gorgeous sunshine, and the last of the snow will be melted before we know it. Something about the bright early morning light that we see in these photos really warms up the day. A coffee and a brisk early morning walk was a great way to start a busy work day.
