There is something about having a cheerful and inspiring workstation that really makes everything about the daily hustle that much more exciting. Since starting The Lilac Press, I’ve truly felt my creativity grow, and I’ve been able to really spread my wings. I’ve learned to cherish the little things. For me, that meant ordering a few wall prints to inspire me throughout the day. Everyone has a dream, or a or a long-term vision, of where they see themselves in the future, and I think once that dream is in place, the daily hustle that comes with it is the real challenge. Right now for me, that means working full time in a job that is giving me great exposure and business skills while spending the majority of my free time doing something I love, here at The Lilac Press. It can be a balancing act to fit it all in while still making time for family, friends and to take care of myself. That’s why I feel a reminder that “the best is yet to come” is in order.
Some office essentials that really keep me on track include my growing collection of Poppin accessories. Their line of mint products is my absolute favorite right now. The letter trays have been a life-saver for keeping documents organized. I really don’t love paperwork (I know, who does?), but with the majority of bills, receipts and other transactions taking place solely online, I need still a place to store the rare important papers as they do come in.
Oh, and the Poppin pens are amazing. A 12-pack is only $12, and they are all I use these days – at home and at work – because they write so smoothly without being too thick or gel-like.
Physical notebooks are still a part of my arsenal. Despite the variety of apps on my phone and computer for taking notes (OneNote, Evernote, iOS Notes, etc.), I still love a good old-fashioned to-do list on paper. I’ve been using Maybooks for the past couple years because they are small and lightweight enough to tote around. Plus, I love when the time comes to pick out a new one! The pattern and color and monogram combination options are endless!

Such a great post! I am slowly pulling my new apartment together and cannot wait to get a desk and create a designated work/blogging space. Also, love the chair! Where did you get it? I am trying to find a mix between comfortable but still supportive.
Thanks, Allison! The chair is actually an antique that we picked up at a thrift store when I was young and a family friend reupholstered and painted (crazy, I know!!) the pattern. Could be a fun DIY project!
