After last week’s uncharacteristic heat wave, the temperatures dropped again this past weekend. A day of (window) shopping and meandering around town was the perfect opportunity to throw on this flannel split neck pullover. I love the black and white windowpane print because it is simple, yet fun. Plaid flannel button downs are my go-to for wearing under cardigans and pullovers this time of year, but I love that this flannel option is warm and cozy but a different style and pattern than my usual choices.

No nonsense recently sent me a pair of their ponte leggings, which seemed entirely appropriate for a weekend day of strolling around. I actually love how the leggings are a bit dressier than a basic cotton legging, but by the nature of being a ponte knit (a blend of rayon, polyester and spandex) are still comfortable and fitted. The detailing down the center of each leg adds a nice touch to make these not-so-basic. While we were shooting these photos, a woman actually came up to me and asked where the leggings were from, as she had been searching for just this pair. At a very reasonable price, these leggings will be great with flats (see my current favorites for comfortability) or with boots this winter.

Warby Parker recently invited me to share some of my favorite fall looks (more on that soon!!), and I had been wanting to try out these acetate frames in ginger lemonade. I was a little worried about the monochromatic look of the ginger lemonade against my skintone and hair color, so I thought my black and white outfit combined with a deep lip color (roomiest rose) would provide the best contrast to try out this eyewear color. Those overcast days when the sun is hiding but the sky is extra bright are when I most need a pair of sunnies – or else I’ll be getting a headache from squinting.

Lastly, I couldn’t help but bundle up in this blanket wrap to shield me from the wind. Although it’s 100% acrylic (not quite the quality of alpaca wool or sheep wool…), it is still some of the softest I’ve ever felt, making it the perfect choice for cuddling up on a chilly day.

I hope this week is off to a great start for everyone!

Great look. Love the plaid blanket wrap. It must be perfect over the flannel window pane top when the temperature dips.

You look great as always. 🙂
