Perfectly Cool
As an East Coast girl, I love visiting the West Coast – mostly because it’s just so different. Not necessarily in a good way or a bad way, but the overall vibe is just different. I had visited San Francisco a year ago, and I just couldn’t wait to get back out there! Last year, I remembered being most surprised by how cool the weather was. We visited in August, and I naively thought that meant the city would be warm. Oh was I wrong! This time around, I made sure to bring some more layers, just in case!
We were lucky to get a completely gorgeous weekend – the temps were cool but not too cold! These photos were taken during the evening we spent in Sausalito walking along the water, overlooking the bay at the San Francisco skyline and popping in and out of the shops. For the evening I wore a cozy turtleneck under a cool leather jacket for a simple, yet warm look. Plus, a neutral faux suede skirt was definitely seasonally appropriate. Plus, comfortable shoes for walking were an absolute must! I was actually surporised by just how comfortable these Free People heeled booties were! They are nice and sturdy, and I wore them walking around quite a bit with no complaints.
Take Me Back to Sausalito
This was my first time exploring Sausalito, but my only complaint is that we didn’t get to spend enough time there! We crossed over the Golden Gate in the early evening so we were able to spend some day light hours walking around. The shops are so cute, and there are lots of unique little stops all around. We popped into some boutiques as well as a well-known healing energy crystal shop. I actually ended up picking up a couple to gift to my mom! Shockingly (or not so much) we just couldn’t get over the temperature. This is probably the New Englander in me, but I never got too hot or too cold while we were walking around, and I’m just so used to bringing lots of layers with me to throw on and off througout the day.
Lastly, we ended the evening with dinner at a delicious sushi restaurant, Sushi Ran, known for flying in fish from Japan daily. I never get too adventurous with my sushi selections, but it was definitely an all around hit. If you ever find yourself there, the roasted spiced cauliflower is a must.

I love that turtleneck!! San Francisco is such a cool city, I’m a east coast girl myself, but my parents always said they’d retire in San Fran if they were able to 🙂
