Do you hate washing your hair? Well, good, because too much shampooing can be damaging. I wash my hair every other day, and let it air dry when possible, but I try to get creative for 2nd day hair. Aside from my go-to braids and topknots, textured waves are the absolute easiest.
To start, braid your hair in two dutch braids before bed the night before. I like to pull my braids apart slightly to create looser waves in the morning.
When you wake up, carefully undo each braid. Try to avoid brushing your hair out completely, but instead lightly finger comb it. Usually, I opt for a few spritzes of dry shampoo to optimal freshness. Currently, I’m loving KA POW dry shampoo by Cibu – mineral powders absorb oil and increase volume.
My secret weapon? 8 Days a Week texture spray. I like to spray this on my dry hair in the morning and then scrunch and tousle for a truly beachy, slept in (yet totally chic) look. Even after a full day, hair still feels nice and textured, without being dried out. Plus, there’s acai powder to help thicken you hair.
Don’t forget to shake it all out before heading out the door for a natural and relaxed look. For 20% off any Cibu product, use code LILAC20 (expires 8/24).
