For so long, I relied on a classic white skinny jean as the perfect complement for any summer outfit. And while having a go-to summer uniform is easy and simple, I’m just not feeling basic skinny jeans anymore. Enter: mom jeans. On-trend and fashion-forward, but ultra comfortable. You can’t go wrong with a pair of these. The high-waist is flattering, as it highlights the narrowest part of the frame. In particular, I’m obsessed with how these Isabel Marant jeans are methodically perforated for the most orderly distressing – the ultimate paradox.
How to Style
I styled these white jeans with a basic tee and a few dainty pieces of gold jewelry, including this gold vermeil heart ring (c/o). I normally say “more is more” when it comes to jewelry. But in this case, I just love a few dainty pieces. Keeping the whole look simple with a tee shirt and slides just says “effortless summer” to me.
Personally, I’m thrilled that skinny jeans are out because I never thought they were comfortable. For that reason, I always used to say that I wasn’t a “jeans girl.” However, lately, I’m loving denim! These high-waisted straight-leg white jeans, also known as “mom jeans” are much cooler and comfier than any skinny jeans I’ve ever know. The deciding factor for me when shopping for jeans is finding a novelty pair – something a little bit different! I always find something special from Gretta Luxe, like these “helter skelter” jeans (seen here). When searching for inspiration for summer style, I knew I wanted a cool pair of white jeans. This pair Isabel Marant open stitch denim fit my requirements.
These jeans work great with a tee shirt. And they’d look even cuter with a graphic oversized tee or a crop top. This particular pair runs a little big, so I’d recommend sizing one size down. I’ve also included several similar pairs to choose from at the bottom of this post.
