The Best of Summer 2017
For some reason, summer has already begun to slip just out of reach. 60 degrees in August is a huge dose of reality for the chillier months that are approaching more quickly than I would like to accept. While reminiscing about warmer days, I realized just how many fun swimsuits I had added to my summer wardrobe here. Keep scrolling for a recap of the most flattering styles, as well as for the best deals you can score now. It may be getting chilly, but if you have an upcoming vacation – even this November or later on in the winter – now is the time to buy! End of the season means retailers want to get rid of their stock, so shop now!
One-Pieces
Personally, I had always drifted more toward bikinis. For me, they were more comfortable, fit me better (and other tall girls with longer torsos out there?), and just seemed to be overall more in style. Lately, I didn’t find that to be the case. One-pieces, with stripes and color blocks, were definitely my suit of choice this year.
One of my most favorite pieces is this red, white and blue number and yes, I did wear it on the Fourth of July. Worn under some short denim cutoffs, this All-American paring may or may not be a repeat for next summer.
Speaking of denim shorts, I’ve talked a lot about my love/hate relationship with jeans and jean jackets. However, my super preppy days of college have morphed into something of a trendier, edgier (kindof?) style, and I am all for denim these days, even ripped denim. This low-back swimmer was perfect for riding around sunny Martha’s Vineyard on family vacation.

Cut-Outs
Cut-out pieces often provide the chic, on-trend style of a one-piece but with a little bit of an edge. And a little less coverage of course. Recently, I visited Newport with the 6 Shore Road by Pooja team and tried on this cut-out one-piece. It was super flattering for a day of lounging by the pool that I felt confident and really could enjoy myself. This gingham version that my sister wore was a cute alternative as well.

Two-Pieces
Two piece suits are always a classic. I used to always opt for mainly two piece suits, as they were more comfortable for me in general. Even though I’m a huge fan of one-pieces now, I like to make sure I always bring a two-piece option (or two) whenever I’m traveling.
Here are a few of my favorite two-piece summer swimwear & major deals that I probably can’t resist. Some of them are already a great price and marked down even further.
