This Christmas was hands down one of the best yet. I don’t always like to do event recaps, especially for family events, but our Christmas celebration this year deserves it! We have a tradition of attending 4 PM mass as a family on Christmas Eve before heading to my grandparents’ home. This is the most important part of the entire Christmas celebration as it sets the tone and reminds us why we rejoice in this holiday.

After a secret Santa gift exchange among all the cousins, Christmas Eve always ends back at my parents’ house with a sibling gift exchange – and of course – pajamas from our parents! This year, my sister and I got these matching pajamas that just have to be the coziest yet! I love to sleep in leggings, and these were the perfect festive pair!

Santa still comes to our house! Christmas morning is filled with gifts and a big family breakfast before we quickly clean  up and prepare for the guests to arrive! I’m not sure what exactly it was – but the days of prep work leading up to Christmas really paid off – everything was just right and delicious. Having my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all in one place to enjoy themselves, each other and good food is a gift in itself.

Thankful can’t even begin to describe how lucky I feel this year. Despite obstacles for everyone in the family throughout this past year, things seemed to fall into place nicely and everyone was able to enjoy this happy day! This gift from my brother to my sister allowed us to capture some special moments throughout. In today’s digital world, there is an inherent value in being able to hold a physical copy of a photo right away. Such a treat!

What a fantastic post. Most people are very lucky to have what they have but often we forget to be “thankful.” I love that you have great family traditions at Christmas.

Great pictures of the table setting. You and your sister are adorable in the PJ’s and the cute slippers. I have a hard time picturing you as “naughty,” I think you’re more “nice.”

Hope you are having a great day.

It really is so important not to lose sight of what really matter and to express gratitude. Cheers to a great 2016! xo
