Ten Thousand Villages

While on the hunt for the perfect ceramic patterned vase (all of mine are currently glass!), I popped into the Ten Thousand Villages shop near my apartment not really sure what to expect. Upon stepping foot in the door, my first impression was amazement – the variety of clothing and housewares was incredible. The best part is that each and every piece is handmade in a developing nation and is sourced through Fair Trade practices. Ten Thousand Villages works to foster long-term relationships with artisans in these countries to provide economic opportunities that would be otherwise unavailable to them.

I picked up this little pitcher from Vietnam that the sales associate recommended could double as a flower vase, and I think it’s perfect for these white hydrangeas. There are Ten Thousand Village shops located all over the country – I was actually surprised to learn that there are multiple locations in the Boston area alone. If you ever come across one of the shops, it is definitely worth a visit. Check out some of my favorite pieces below:tenthousandvillages
