Taking San Francisco By Storm

SF02

Between trolley rides, a GoCar Tour (yes we were those tourists) and plenty of walking up and down those hills, this past weekend was a total whirlwind – in a good way, of course!

SF05As a born and raised New England girl, I expect summer to be well…summer. Even though I was warned that San Francisco would be cooler, especially in the early mornings and the evenings, I was honestly really surprised at just how cold it actually was. I definitely was not properly prepared; however, luckily, I did have a great outfit for the day we spent out and about in all parts of the city. Dressing in layers is definitely the key here. In some spots of the city, the sun will be out and it will actually be hot. In other parts, or if it is too early for all the fog to have burned off yet, the temperature will be quite chilly. Scarves and cardigans and light jackets saved me this weekend. A nice denim jacket with a lightweight scarf was the best possible choice for a Sunday of adventures.

Denim jacket (this one is from H&M, but here’s a similar one) // lightweight scarf (similar) // cotton t-shirt // Gigi pants // metallic belt // the most comfortable flats // sunnies // crossbody (similar)

Yes, we rode around in one of these. It was truly terrifying at some points, but mostly amazing overall. I’d say it’s one of the best ways available to see an entire city (or almost!!) if you only have one day.

Although I saw all the major touristy spots (Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Crissy Field, Lombard Street, etc.), I’m dying to go back and spend some actual quality time enjoying more of the local flavor. Anyone have suggestions for how I should spend my time on my next trip back to this beautiful, although foggy, city? xo -L

I went to San Francisco for the first time last spring and I absolutely fell in love with the city. We stayed in a hostel, and it was so fascinating! The whole experience was really great. I honestly just enjoyed walking downtown! We went to China Town, which wasn’t that great, but it was still fun!
Looks like you had a blast!
