Now that summer is upon us, I especially love to paint my nails bright and cheery colors. Because I love it so much, I usually end up painting my nails at least twice a week. I can’t quite explain it, as I’ve mentioned here, but there’s something about freshly painted nails that can just escalate the whole day from good to great!
E-nuf is e-nuf, sand tropez and bikini so teeny in the image above have long been among my favorites; however, Essie has nailed it this year with their summer 2015 palette. My top picks right now are peach side babe and chillato (also in the above image). The peachy color is the perfect balance of brightness and lightness. Other shades of this hue I’ve tried in the past somehow feel either too light/sheer or too neon for me, but as though I’m Goldilocks and the Three Bears, this one is juuust right!
The pistachio cream of chillato is not something I would normally go for. It’s very unique but also very subtle, so it has actually been working for me. I love switching it up from my normal pinks and reds and corals without trending toward overly exotic, and this shade seems to do the trick!
It’s not at all unlikely that I will have collected the rest of the Essie Summer 2015 collection over the next couple months. What are your thoughts on summer shades?
