Subtly Striped Utility Jacket

Happy Friday! It was 80º and sunny in Boston this week! Completely unbelievable, but I was loving every second of it. Unfortunately, humid and rainy weather followed, and that little spring tease has got me looking ahead and yearning for the summer! Can you imagine leaving in the morning without a jacket?! It seems like a far fetched dream…

This is the time of year during which having a few light jackets to throw on is a must. I think we all know that I’m a fan of my trench coats, but for weekends or days when I just want something more casual, a utility jacket is a great option. I love this subtly blue and white striped one from GAP because it’s made of a decent heavyweight cotton and fits my aesthetic more so than a typical army green utility jacket does. For spring, a great way to style simple shirt dresses (like this one) is to layer them under sweaters or jackets. Then, you’ll stay warm but can remove layers if the sun starts to really heat up.

All that seems to be on my mind lately is a constant stream of plans for how I will spend my summer this year. Who’s with me?! Days at the beach, on the boat, weekend trips, sundresses, cookouts, sandals, ice cream…

In the meantime, I’ll settle for fun dresses layered under cute utility jackets. All I know is…spring fever is real!
