A recent afternoon spent in the South End was peaceful and whimsical all at once. First, a family dinner at one of our favorite tiny Italian restaurants, Giacomo’s. I’ve frequented this restaurant quite a bit when I used to live much closer to the South End location. There is also another location in the North End, which my family has visited before, but this was our first time all together at the South End spot. The lemon fettuccine with shrimp and scallops is by far my favorite. I order it every time, and on the rare occasions when I try something new, I wish I hadn’t. The homemade lemon pasta is the best.
After dinner, a ten-minute stroll to the South End Buttery for some treats was in order. The lemon lavender cupcake is my absolute favorite (lemon filling and lavender frosting!), but the strawberry cupcake isn’t so bad either!
The South End is so charming, even on an overcast day. I couldn’t help but snap some shots along the route.

I’m wearing my favorite summer staples, i.e., white dresses and Jack Rogers, as much as I can through the rest of this month before Labor Day passes. My collection of white dresses has definitely grown this summer, and I plan to take full advantage of this wardrobe. A white cotton dress is suitable for almost any summer occasion from daytime barbecues to casual evening dinners. This surely won’t be the last wear of the season for this one!
