Rainy Day in Newburyport

Rainy summer days keep a lot of people inside. Most people don’t want to deal with the wet, humid weather. The way I look at it, the rain is a great excuse to don my raspberry Hunter Boots and a raincoat. It can be kind of fun dressing for the rain, plus, since so many people stay inside, it is an even better time to explore and shop around in a what would be an otherwise overcrowded area. Here’s a look at what I wore last weekend shopping around Newburyport in the rain.

Dress: Louise Misha (50% off) | Boots: Hunter | Bag: Botkier | Raincoat: Ellen Tracy | Umbrella: Totes

Newburyport has so many fun spots both for shopping and eating, but one I hadn’t tried before was Souffés. When I saw people coming out of there with these pink coffee cups, I knew there was no way I was leaving without one. So, I dragged my sister across the street (just kidding, she wasn’t the least bit opposed to this) for some almond milk lattes.

Newburyport is a great little day trip destination – and is easily accessible on the commuter rail from Boston. If you’re planning to visit, take a quick peek at my Newburyport shopping guide with all my favorite spots from past visits. For me, the summertime is all about taking advantage of the warm weather (even if it is a bit rainy) and enjoying the beauty that is New England.

Where are some of your favorite day trip destinations for the summertime?
