Cozy Knits Essential for Warmth
If you live in an area which has cold and brutal winters like New England, you are no stranger to cozy sweaters. Seriously, a good sweater is an essential layering piece for surviving the winter. Everyone keeps saying that we’re due for a big winter this year, and I can feel it too! To be honest, as a New England girl at heart, I am so ready for those notorious Nor’easter storms to start heading our way. There is something so magical about the city when it is blanketed in that pure, white fluffy snow. Everything and everyone just seems to slow down a bit and the city is so quiet after a snow storm. When those big storms come this year, we had all best be prepared with warm layers!
A Vest with Added Length
Alright, I’m just going to admit to one of my biggest struggles in the wintertime – I can not seem to get my temperature just right. I’m usually freezing when I’m working at my desk or being generally sedentary; however, whenever I bundle up in all the layers for a walk outside, I always fear overheating. It seems that walking around the city – sometimes miles at a time – all bundled up in sweaters and down jackets can make a girl completely overheat. It’s a delicate balance of dressing for the outdoors each winter.
My best advice is to wear lots of layers that can be put on and taken off as needed, and one of my favorite ways to do so is with vests! I love that vests keep my core warm while not causing me to get too hot. Club Monaco had this perfect wool and alpaca blend knit vest that I knew I absolutely needed for our upcoming winter. Right now, we seem to be in the calm before the storm…temps are certainly dropping but we haven’t had a major snow storm just yet, making a vest like this a perfect transitional piece before we all break out our goose down parkas.
