One of the best parts of toughing out a long New England winter is just how much you’ll truly appreciate the blooming spring flowers and blossoming trees. Throughout the winter, I actually enjoy December through February with all the holidays and snowstorms, but March is long and dreary. Even April can be very rainy and cold, but each year when May finally rolls around, I’m astonished over and over by all the beautiful changes natures cycles through. I especially love the dogwood trees around the city with their beautiful (although short-lived) pink flowers.
The Boston Public Gardens really come to life when the greenery is revived. There’s nothing like a midday workday walk through the common for some sunshine and fresh air. I couldn’t help but snap a few pictures from the other day.
I love to keep as many blooms around the apartment for instant mood brighteners. There’s nothing like glancing over at a fresh bouquet to put a smile on your face. You just can’t go wrong with some roses in a fun color or crisp white tulips.
Happy Spring!
