Simple Braids
Braids have been saving me, lately. Since I’ve been trying not to use heat on my hair, either in terms of a blowdryer or a curling iron/wand, braids have been the best way for me to style my natural air dried hair. I’ve been posting some of my braided looks on Snapchat lately, so if you’re not already following along, you totally should (username: leigha_gardner).
I mentioned this yesterday, but I recently lightened my hair (it was probably quite obvious in yesterday’s photos, too) and did NOT like how it came out. About one week later, I had the color brought back down to something closer to my natural color. Since my hair was taking damage from all these trips to the hair dresser, I’ve been loading up on the deep conditioner and limiting the heat styling. Right now, a single, messy dutch braid is my absolute favorite (with my classic fishtail in second). It is so simple and easy, and with a few pieces pulled out, it looks soft and chic. Plus, it makes my hair look thicker than a traditional french braid would. I have relatively thin/fine hair to begin with, and I’m always wishing it would be thicker! Anyone have any good tips for growing thicker hair??
Athleisure
Many of today’s styles are all about feeling comfortable, with athleisure wear being super on-trend right now. But sometimes, I feel like my closet full of athletic clothes just isn’t going to cut it. Don’t get me wrong, I looove my yoga pants, but I always feel like there is a time and a place for them, and that they are not an everyday look for me. When I want to feel comfy AND feel dressed up, I’ve been wearing this dance dress by Tangoella. The activewear material coupled with the feminine cut of the dress, make the piece one of the most versatile I own. I love that I can either dress it up to go to dinner or dress is down with sneakers for running errands.

Thanks, Tess. I’ve just been on a braiding kick lately! So much easier than a blow out or curling my hair 🙂
Girls, you’re rocking that braid!
