Happy St. Patrick’s Day! It seems like everyone wants to be a little bit Irish on this lucky day (at least here in Boston) because who wants to miss out on all the fun? From parades and bagpipes to meals of corned beef and cabbage, there is so much tradition and pride associated with this holiday. My personal favorite is the Irish soda bread that I grew up with. This particular recipe, which ironically does not actually contain any soda, has been in my family for generations. Make this classic treat and arm yourself with plenty of green today, and maybe you will find yourself some of that luck of the Irish! As much as I hope everyone finds a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow today, I believe in making your own luck. Working hard and having a little grit is what will actually allow each of us to find our own metaphorical pot of gold. Of course, it never helps to have a little Irish blessing on your side:
