Lilac Links

Lilac Links_3

If today is just one of those Wednesdays when you really need a weekday pick-me-up, here are my favorite links as of late. Whether you’re in need of career inspiration, Halloween costume ideas or just some entertainment for a few minutes, I’ve got you covered.

One // This no-mess technique for seeding a pomegranate totally changed my opinion of the fruit. I used to opt for the containers of seeds already separated from the fruit, which of course always came at a premium. Now, I’m not afraid to pick up a whole pomegranate almost every time I see them, especially to have a superfood snack on hand.

Two // I made this roasted root vegetable dish last year, and it was the perfect blend of fall flavors. The root veggies are extra hearty, and the smell of them roasting fills up the kitchen with a delicious and homey aroma. This year, experiments based on the veggies in our farmshare each week were in order. There really is no way to go wrong with roasted veggies, olive oil, salt and pepper.

Three // Need an idea for a Halloween costume this year? Lauren Conrad’s round up of her favorite costumes throughout the years is sure to spark some inspiration. Besides, the last picture of her dressed as a witch as a kid is the cutest.

Four // These tips on how to be successful from 30 CEOs were quite enlightening; common themes include taking care of yourself and making a point to make time for the people you’ve surrounded yourself with. One point that especially resonated with me is #2 (don’t do bad days); you just can’t let unforeseen circumstances get the best of you.

Five // Need to give your brain a few minutes? Watch a few of these Tasty videos. The videos are short and make the recipes look so easy. Fair warning: you will be starving after watching a few of these.

Enjoy!

Such great links Leigha! I haven’t had pomegranate seeds yet this season and will definitely be trying the no mess technique soon!

Thanks so much for sharing the video on how to get pomegranate seeds out without making a mess! This method seems so much easier and makes me want to eat them more often!
