Rain or shine? We just never know with the fickle New England weather. If you check the weather at night before bed and mentally make note of an outfit, more often than not you’re going to have to make adjustments in the morning anyway. One day last week, the weather forecast was rain for the entire day, so (without looking out the window) I threw on my rubber boots and lugged an extra pair of shoes and an umbrella around all day. Unbeknownst to me – it would be sunny all day! I would have been better off just bringing my sunglasses instead!
Trench coats are great because they are relatively light and water resistant, but they can also provide a good amount of warmth, especially if they have a removable wool liner (like the one in this post). I love to have a neutral tan or black trench easily accessible during the rainy spring months.
One thing about living in New England is true – you must always be ready to adapt to changing weather!
How do you stay prepared for unexpected rainy days?

Ahhh the one staple item missing from my closet is a trench coat – but I have my eye on the burberry one because it’s so classic, so I’ll just have to keep waiting LOL! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
It took me forever to find a trench coat I loved, but now I literally wear it with EVERYTHING! Such an essential wardrobe staple!
