Hello from Miami! Recently, we had the opportunity to visit Miami Beach, so you can bet we booked some plane tickets and jetted on down here. Even though New England is really starting to warm up, jackets are still definitely required most days, and I was dying to feel the warm sun on my skin once again. There is nothing I love more than to feel the heat of the sun warming up my skin, which I know is SO bad and that’s why I came with prepared with UV protection.
I can remember my mom buying Hawaiian Tropic for my siblings and me when we were young, and I always loved the tropical fragrances because they were so indulgent. Even when we weren’t heading to a tropical destination and just to the pool, I loved soaking up the sun knowing I was protected by my favorite sunscreen. It truly always smelled like vacation in a bottle.
My biggest priority as I’ve gotten older is protecting my face from the sun. I definitely do not want to see any signs of pre-mature aging and wrinkles, so I use a facial moisturizer with an SPF component every single day. Most facial lotions only have a low SPF (usually about 15), so I knew for our trip to Miami I would need something a little stronger.
As soon as I tried the Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration™ Weightless Face Sunscreen, I knew it would be coming along with me on my adventure (since it has SPF 30). I try to only pack a carry-on suitcase when possible, and this sunscreen was most certainly getting some of that precious cargo space.
The sunscreen is super lightweight and absorbs into the skin so well. I actually found myself covering my whole face, neck and chest to ensure I stayed protected. The best part is that after a swim and a few hours in the sun, it is actually quite soothing to reapply. Taking a little break to reapply under the umbrella from playing in the waves and walking along South Beach was an indulgent refuge. I even caught my boyfriend sneaking it out of my bag several times throughout the day – definitely a good sign.
One of the nice things about Hawaiian Tropic is how accessible it is. You can find this facial sunscreen at almost any grocery or drug store or even online. I certainly will be restocking this new favorite for the warm summer months to come!
How do you stay protected in the sun?
