You know that feeling after a long day at the beach, in the sun, or doing physical activity? Like when you can’t wait to get into the shower to feel refreshed? That feeling when you wash the day off, but get dressed up again for dinner? It’s my favorite. I love feeling clean and polished for a nice dinner after a day outdoors. Can you relate?
There is nothing that makes me feel more feminine than a breezy, flowy dress. I love pleated skirts, especially like this color blocked one. The weather was surprisingly chilly during my recent visit to Newport, so I found comfort in longer dresses and skirts.
You probably can tell from my other photos, but I really love taking pictures at golden hour, or magic hour as some call it. The lighting truly is magic! I know, I know it sounds silly, but I love the way the sun flares against the camera lens. Even if unintentional, it creates a truly artistic look. My sister and I have been having fun playing around with lighting and since she accompanied me to Newport, we had a fun little photoshoot session before dinner. Believe me when I say we took a lot of photos – plenty of her too! But, the only way we, as amateur photographers, are going to learn is through trial and error. We’re learning!
Warm sun on my skin, sunnies to shield my eyes and a delicious meal with family and friends in the very near future? Yes, that is my favorite time of the day. The sun setting provides a sense of calm as we reflect on the day that has passed, as well as a sense of excitement for what the night ahead holds.
What do you like to wear to dinner after a day in the sun?
