Ever feel like your eye makeup is too “blah”? Or, maybe you want to take your daytime look up a notch for dinner or an evening out? Today, I’m sharing how I up the ante with my eye makeup in just a few easy steps!

Lately, I’ve been feeling like my dark undereye circles are more prominent than ever…anyone else with me? This life that we all seem to lead is nonstop hectic sometimes! To combat this, I alway start with with a dose of creamy concealer, blending and spreading liberally with my beauty blending sponge.

Lately, I’ve been starting with Rimmel Colour Precise Eyeliner in Black. The brush on this eyeliner makes it so easy to use. I like to get a nice thin line on my top lid just above my eyelashes. Starting not quite at the inner corner of my eye, I sweep the brush slowly in multiple strokes to just beyond the outer corner for a slightly winged look.

It’s easy to get a little shaky during this part, so any stray marks can be easily cleaned up with a little makeup remover. Just dab a bit of a formula like this one on a cotton swab and clean up as needed. Make sure you run a dry cotton swab tip over the areas you just cleaned up to remove any additional oily residue. This can cause your makeup to run later, which I’m sure you don’t want!

Next up, I like to embolden the look with Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Gel Eye Liner. It is quite easy to apply a precise, yet generous line with the brush it comes with. Just use many small strokes over the thin line you just created, being sure not to touch the slight wing in the outer corner. I love this creamy eyeliner because it goes on so smoothly AND I love that it is waterproof. I always seem to run into trouble with smudging, and in the summertime, the humidity can really do a number on your perfectly crafted eye makeup (which is quite a bummer).

If you are worried about getting the waterproof gel liner off at the end of the night, don’t be! The Rimmel make up remover actually works quite well, and has been one of my favorites lately. I usually just use one cotton pad soaked with it per eye, and it comes right off. Afterward I run a pad soaked in micellar water over my eyelids to remove any excess oil.

Next up: Rimmel Volume Colourist Mascara. Not only does this formula work great for volumizing and lengthening lashes, it actually slowly and safely tints lashes over time. There is no beauty look I love more than bold, full eyelashes. As a blonde, my eyelashes are naturally fairly light. They don’t stand out at all without mascara, which is why I almost always layer on a bold mascara. I’ve been having a lot of fun over the last two weeks using this tinting formula and seeing the effect it has had on my lashes. The image below doesn’t quite do it justice, but the two squares on top were taken completely makeup free two weeks ago, and the squares on the bottom were taken makeup free just yesterday after two weeks of daily use. The difference is subtle, but I actually feel a lot better without make up, because my eyes seem to pop just a little more. Read more about the formula HERE.

Of course, with a coat or two (I’m wearing two coats here) of the mascara, the eye look is completely elevated and emboldened, and I’m almost ready for the night!

The look is finished off with a touch of accentuating shadow, a little bit of brow powder (again those blonde hairs…), a touch of blush, and a little lip color. I almost never leave the house without a little lip color, just because it makes me feel good, so why not?! Who can relate? The whole routine takes me just five minutes to apply if I’m being speedy, so it’s perfect for adding some ‘oomph’ to the look after a long workday.

Rimmel at Target

I’ve tried my fair share of makeup products, but I never seem to be able to leave Target without something new to try. I’m just so curious about new products and always looking to see what’s out there. If you are anything like me in that regard, I have some great news: you can CLICK HERE for 25% off Rimmel Cosmetics at Target. Target stores are popping up everywhere, and I just can’t resist a good Target run. If you are at all interested in the lash tinting mascara, hop on over to your local store for a very reasonable price!

Has anyone else tried lash tinting? What did you think?

It’s a lovely look for every day. I just need to get better at applying gel liner.

It seems more intimidating than it actually is. Just be sure to have a Q-tip handy and some make up remover to clean up smudges 😉
