Red is one of those colors that just feels classic and refined, while at the same time being bold and sexy. It really is the best of both worlds. A Festive Hue for the Holidays

Versatility is what makes a true red so classic. An elegant crimson hue is appropriate all year round. Between Valentine’s Day, July Fourth and Christmas, there isn’t any time of year when this color just doesn’t work. That being said, I am personally always drawn to the color during the holiday season. One of my best friends likes to joke that I become obsessed with a particular color each season, and last holiday season it was surely red (evidenced here and here).

Incorporate Subtle Pops or Go For the Full Ensemble

No matter what you have lined up for the holidays, I’m sure you’re in need an outfit or two for this festive party season. My advice: go for red! Either incorporate subtle pops of red like a classic red lip, a bold crimson clutch or bright pumps. Alternatively, and I definitely encourage this, go for bold! Pick out a flattering red dress like The Jackie by Maggy London, and just go for it. Pair it with blacks and neutrals for contrast to really make your chosen color stand out.
