Happy hydrangeas. Ocean breeze. Salty air. Sunny mornings. Cedar shingles. Cape Cod itself is beautiful in the summer, but Chatham Bars Inn is utterly stunning. It’s my favorite place to go each year – whether for a week long vacation or just an occasional Sunday brunch. This spot has to be the absolute prettiest on Cape Cod – I just can’t get enough of the whimsical, yet classically New England yardscape.
My recent visit was on a day filled with the most perfect sunshine – but still not too hot! Dining on the terrace overlooking the steep descent to the beach just can’t be beat. I couldn’t help but snap ALL the pictures, especially of the bountiful hydrangeas (my favorite summer flower) that cover the property.
This dress is one of my all time Cynthia Rowley favorites. It’s linen and light while still structured and appropriate. Navy ikat is simultaneously playful and subdued. This dress is a bit older, so I’ve picked out my five favorite navy ikat dresses that are similar below.
Alice and Olivia // J.Crew // NYDJ // J.Crew // DVF
Lastly, mimosas, of course! These are a must on a leisurely Sunday morning. Relaxing on the patio with one of these and a full plate from the endless buffet inside is my ideal.
What are some of your favorite places to visit in the summer?
The cape is one of my happy places. Chatam is so amazing I love all of the restaurants and shopping!
Me too! It is so quintessential New England 🙂
