Happy July, friends! I can’t believe how quickly the summer is flying by already! It seems like just last week I was complaining about the cold, rainy spring. Now we are melting away in July. Everyone thinks I’m crazy when I say this, but I love the heat and humidity. Life just seems easier in the summer. I can let my hair air dry, throw on a breezy dress, and I’m good-to-go for the day.
I am way overdue in sharing the details of this blue gingham one-shoulder dress that you first saw here. During our visit to Miami in May, I wore it on the day of the Kentucky Derby.
Although I planned to feature this quite a while ago, I have to be completely honest…it has been a busy time of year. You might have seen this on my Instagram stories, but just yesterday we planned to go for a hike. We had been looking forward to this hike all week, and even strategically parked one car at the beginning and one car at the end. Naturally, I completely forgot my sneakers! Yikes!
I had to run out to buy a new pair, and fortunately they were super comfy. Things were starting to look good for us. OH…but then we got really lost and ended up hiking almost 9 miles. We randomly happened to end up at my boyfriend’s parents’ house, and luckily, they were willing to give us a ride back to the car…hah!
The good news; however, is that this dress is now on major sale for less than $40 from Amazon (one of my favorite places for unexpected fashion finds). Plus, now that July 4th is almost here, I’m thinking this will be a good time to pull this blue gingham number back out of the closet. How cute will it be paired with some red and white accessories?!
You can expect and explanation soon on why life has been so crazy lately, but for now, I’m getting ready for the Fourth of July! What will you be wearing on this festive & patriotic holiday?

I love this dress! Amazon has surprisingly good finds sometimes.
Your hike sounds like quite the adventure! I am usually the same way on hikes, I’ll let others navigate before I do so we don’t get lost!
