Beautiful Bermuda

Bermuda is definitely one of the prettiest places I have ever visited. While too far north to be a part of the Caribbean, it surely feels like a Caribbean island – maybe better! We stayed at the Fairmont Southampton, which was a stunning and sprawling estate of green golf courses and pink buildings. The Ocean Club by the beach and the Cabana Bar were both right on the water and great places to spend the day.

What I would give to be back there sitting in one of these pistachio Adirondacks…

The hotel had lots of dining options, so we were never at a loss for food. My favorites turned out to be The Newport, A Gastropub, particularly because of the white bean chili with cornbread waffles – something I just may have to trying making at home, as well as The Burger Bar at Wickets for which we loved the vanilla iced tea! Bermuda is known for its rum swizzles, dark & stormys, and fish chowder (very different from New England clam chowder!), so be sure to give those a try if you ever venture to this paradise.

The public beach right next to the hotel beach, Horseshoe Bay, has to be the most beautiful beach. The pictures can’t quite do it justice, but the sand here is actually pink. Picking up a handful, you can visibly see the pink granules mixed it. The endless pink sand and turquoise waves with secret caves and hidden coves make this work of nature the perfect relaxation destination.

Horshoe Bay

My favorite thing about Bermuda has to be that everything was a pinky salmon, mint green, or turquoise, including this pretty church below. Bermuda will definitely be a repeat trip.
