2016 in a Nutshell
If you’ve been following The Lilac Press for some time now, then you definitely know how much I love color. Many of my outfits are full of colors, prints and patterns as these elements are defining aspects of my personal style. This printed dress by Maggy London (it’s the Alexia dress) is a perfect embodiment of my style in 2016. With pinks, blues and neutrals coming together in a unique floral print, I knew immediately this was a dress for me. Plus, the feminine fit & flare cut with dainty cap sleeves can do no wrong.
Re-featuring 2016 Favorites
My color crush this year has absolutely been a palette of rosy nude and light blush tones. This pale pink trench (also seen here) was an instant favorite and I was thrilled to be able to feature it again. (You can probably bet on the fact that this won’t be the last time you’ll see it…).
Velvet has been another favorite of mine this year (primarily this past fall/winter season). These Topshop shoes (also seen here) are another current 2016 obsession; however, these are scheduled to be making another appearance on the blog as well. As a moderate height block heel, they are quite comfortable for all-day wear. I’ve paired them with both dresses and jeans (seen on Instagram here), making them particularly versatile.
