Create A Dreamy European Summer Inspired Picnic

There’s something about a summer picnic that feels instantly romantic: fresh bread, sparkling water, fruit that somehow tastes better outside, and an excuse to slow down for a few hours. Whether you’re heading to the beach, the mountains, or just your local park, a few thoughtful details can make even a simple picnic feel elevated. These are my favorite essentials to channel a dreamy European-inspired summer picnic.

Start With a Beautiful Picnic Blanket

A soft oversized blanket instantly makes your setup feel more inviting and gives everything that effortless European summer look.

Pack Simple Foods That Feel Elevated

Fresh bread, cheese, fruit, and sparkling drinks are easy to pack but always feel special outdoors.

Bring Real Glassware (or Something Close)

A few pretty glasses or acrylic tumblers make even sparkling water feel a little more intentional.

Lean Into Natural Textures

Woven baskets, linen napkins, and wooden serving pieces add warmth and make the whole picnic feel more curated.

Don’t Forget Comfort Essentials

A portable speaker, bug spray, and a cooler bag make it easier to actually relax and enjoy the day.

Keep It Simple

The best picnics aren’t overplanned. Just good food, a nice view, and a few people you love spending time with.

This looks like it was a blast 🙂 A bottle of wine or bubbly is always the first thing on my list, followed closely by a corkscrew. Nothing is worse than getting somewhere and realizing you forgot the corkscrew!

You are so right! I was so afraid of forgetting a corkscrew and it turned out that the wine we brought had a screw cap…haha!

Thank you! I got it with the vision of wearing to a wine tasting/vineyard, but I think it was perfect for our picnic 🙂

Baguettes are perfect for a picnic. I always check pinterest to see different ways to make sandwiches before we go out on a picnic! Beautiful dress!
